Recognition of foreign qualifications in Oman

Hello everyone,

Were your professional qualifications recognised in Oman? What country did you complete your qualifications in? What profession are you in?

Did you have to go through any formalities to get your qualifications recognised, such as to have them translated?

If your qualifications weren't recognised, were there any additional tests or exams you had to complete before you were able to practice your profession in Oman or continue with your studies?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Priscilla

I haven't received a job offer yet from any companies in Oman yet..

It is so frustrating. Coz originally i am an administrator.  And right now it something next to impossible for me despite my qualifications and years of experience.   Luckily have had background in teaching, but also that is an issue. I have  had to sit   for ielts test to test my English despite me having a TOEFL cert.

Im doctor here in ministry of health oman, im from bd, they accept foreign medical graduation but need to pass medical license examination. They varify all certificates.

and for biologist?

Hi Christy.
Yes my international /foreign qualifications were very  well recognized and accepted here in Oman.   Although there was a need for interview and approval.
Kind regards
Joseph

Since all my certificates were in english there was no need for translation. I only got them attested at the Oman consulate in my country before coming to Oman and they were accepted directly.

Plz guide about Submitting Qualifications Equivalency Application to the Qualifications Equivalency Department in the Ministry of Higher Education via the website: www.mohe.gov.om

Anyone has done this process?

Hi , would you please mind sharing your experience regarding viva ? How was that ? Any ECG  or x-rays cases involved?

@rahin036
Kindly let me know how many years of experience required for Specialist Psychiatrist post in Muscat since you are working in MOH as Doctor

Priscilla,
You have highlighted something that may bring an extreme laughter to many out there (Including me)  :dumbom: . Let me simplify it based on my REAL observations,

1- Originally a cobbler from the UK is actually a plant manager (No jokes).
2- A person holding a three months diploma course works as a "Discipline Engineer" in a small SME company.
3-  A "White man" from a "White Country" with a background of outdoor (Door to door) sales is actually a CEO of a local Omani organization.
4-  A watch salesman may be found as a Director of business at a local Omani organization.
5-  A pharmacist is actually a specialized Doctor in Oman.

If you still laughing with burns on ur head, trust me that above-mentioned mentioned points are REAL and have been witnessed by MYSELF  :proud

So formulating this, you should be knowing by now asking yourself -  RECOGNIZED QUALIFICATIONS ??

My qualifications are from Nepal, MBBS and MS orthopedics.
Wanted to know whether it is acceptable for licensing in Oman?
Thanks
