My Expat Experience

I'll have been in (Greater) Bangkok for 14 years at the end of next month. But I just found this site the other day, when looking for assistance my wife was looking for. Expat.com was the first on the list after a Google search.

Because Thailand has a maximum working age, I retired in Q1 last year. I had been a managing consultant and project manager for enterprise wide applications (ERP) at IBM Thailand. After retirement, My wife and I loved the place so much we decided to travel and enjoy it here for a year. I renewed my retirement visa for another year earlier this year. We have not completely discounted the possibility of staying here on a longer term basis. But that would require transferrin some funds here to buy a place because we cannot continue to afford the monthly rent.
