teaching help

anyone know how to help me with obtaining the qualifications required to teach over in jakarta without a degree?

You need a degree. You can chance it with a very basic online qualification but as someone who hires international and local teachers, I won't be able to offer you anything if you have no degree.

The rues to get a legal work permit require a degree and a few other things.
I have heard of cases where people have got work permits without one but whatever way they did it was probably illegal.

ok thanks guys, i wouldn't expect anything less from one of the most corrupt governments on the planet!!!  i obviously dont see the relevance, i could be the best teacher in the world and i also speak 10 languages and am learning basha now, but if that's the score then ok,  thanks for letting me know though.

As a note, whilst Indonesia clearly still has serious corruption problems, you have to recognise the government's crackdown on this and the work the KPK is doing to get rid of the problems.
You might also note the privilege of a visa has a little note in there about not defaming anything about Indonesia.
Just a thought possibly worth a mention.

The debate regarding unqualified TEFLers is long and won't be solved any time soon so there's bugger all point in yet another thread.
However, the law is what it boils down to and that is clear - No degree = no work permit (but some seem to manage anyway - no idea how).

If you're married to an Indonesian, the story starts to change.

Good to know this .   ;)
