Hello there,
I am member since 2014, but you can consider me as new. I only spent 4 months in New York in 2014 with a J1 visa and had to come back to Brussels.
I now completed the green card lottery process and need to move to USA before september 2017.
I have two questions:
1) How long does it take to get the green card issued once you enter to US?
2) Can I get the card of my boy (4 years and half) without bringing him with me ?

(For practical reason I just can't leave my job in Brussels, so I need to come in summer to have my card and my social security number, and then look for a job while finishing my contract).

Your GC status gets activated at point of entry with a stamp valid for one year in your passport. The actual card will be mailed to you.

Re-entry permit has to applied for in the US. You find details on uscis.gov.

No clue about the child. As he is tied to your petition common sense says he has to be present.
