How to bring your car to the United Arab Emirates

Hello everybody,

If you exported your car to the United Arab Emirates, were there any formalities that needed to be completed beforehand? What were they?

What is the best way to export your car? Is there a limit on the number of vehicles, or perhaps the age of the vehicle? Are there limits on emissions or emission controls in the United Arab Emirates?

What are the expected costs of exporting a car? In your opinion, is it worth it?

Once you arrived in the United Arab Emirates, what were the applicable taxes? What was the customs process like?

How do you go about registering an imported car in the United Arab Emirates?

Is it best to buy a car once you have arrived or to bring your car with you, in your opinion?

We look forward to hearing from you!

Hi dear
Before u exporting your car to UAE you need to go to export company who will ship ur car to UAE they will give u a paper called bill of leading this is the important document you need.
Once your car arrive you need to go to Jabal Ali port if you ship it to dubai or to khliafah's sea port for Abu Dhabi.
Then it will reach the custom to finalize everything , tax here is 5% of the value of ur car but they are so helpful when they estimating the cars.
They will give u green certificate for the traffic police registration or RTA.

Total cost around 1000 dirhams 👌🏽

Hi.
Please note the following before you decide to bring your car to uae:
1. Import duty is munimal and there is also a levy all may be between usd 200 to 5oo.
2. At time of registration the car will have to pass a test on a computerized system. A car older than 3 years may not pass the test and you will be visiting repair workshops and wasting your precious time and money.
3.  Resale value of used imported cars in uae is low.
CONCLUSION: Sell your car in your home country and bring the money to uae. Then buy a used car from rrputed company such as Al Tayer or Al Futtaim

It's not at all a good idea to bring your car to UAE , unless and until their very strong reason
