Hello everyone,

Hello Bhavna

If the power of attorney is issued in  Oman, then the POA needs to be signed and executed before a notary public and both the principal and the attorney are required to attend the office of notary public.

And if the POA originates from outside Oman, then it has to be noterized and verified by the foreign ministry or the equvalent competent authority in the origintating country followed by authentication by the Embassey of Oman in that country.

The Office of a notary public requires  the POA to be in arabic so its important that if  the original POA is in any other language, it should be translated into arabic by a certified translator. Otherwise, the Notary public authority will refuse to sign the POA.

There are other details to consider and to be taken care of both in terms of procedures and substance/contents regarding the execution of POA.
