Agents tend to charge a lot because they assume foreigners are daunted by the process. But it's not as difficult as all that. Do it yourself and you will pay only what needs to be paid, and getting additional people such as children added later on is easy to do by yourself. I used an Agent many years ago, but in retrospect I probably should have done it myself. Online applications should make things a lot easier.
