Hi everyone,

I'm currently renting in Albunol while looking for a more permanent home in the region. My Spanish isn't great but I'm taking regular classes to up my game! When I'm here more regularly, I would like to participate in some form of community service and wonder if there is anyone who could point me in the direction of an organisation that coordinates voluntary action here. And if there are any ex-pats nearby who are already involved in this way, would love to hear from you.

The Spanish in general have very little idea of voluntary service as when a Spaniard has a problem normally the wider family will step in.

You might try asking at your town hall but don't expect too much interest. ç

I started voluntary interpreter services at 5 police stations 20 years ago and 'getting the idea over' was not easy.
