In Singapore, there is no short term (less than 6 months) rental facility available (it's illegal here) and foreigners (who are not working here) are not eligible to get a rental room legally.
Either you both can stay in hostel (available at various places e.g. Bugis, China Town, Little India etc) or stay in a Budget hotel (if you have enough cash). Good luck.
