Dear Compatriots

We received the message via the Consular Corps of the Philippines that Columban Sr. Kathleen Melya was brutally assaulted on Wed night in Midsalip Zam del Sur.  She is at present in hospital in Medina near Ozamis.  She requires surgery on her leg and has to be moved to Manila by stretcher.  The doctors won't allow her to be moved until she has a blood transfusion. Unfortunately she is type B- which is very rare in the Philippines.  She will undergo surgery in Manila and will certainly need it there also.

Reaching out to those with Type B- blood to help Sr. Kathleen.  Should you be of the blood type  B-   and be ready to donate, please contact  directly John Leydon <[email protected]> and St. Patrick Society <[email protected]>.
