Flat Pack Kitchens

I am looking at sending Flat pack kitchen cabnets by Balikbayan box from Australia to Davao . My reasoning is the quality of the material my be better in Australia. Has anyone done this or thought about this . Would anyone be able to advise me of the pros and cons .

Cons:
1. Unless you are a carpenter or have had experience in assembling and installing flat pack kitchen cabinets, you will have to hire a pro. It might be difficult to find one who has the patience to go through, will understand the instructions, and do an acceptable job.

2. Parts can get damaged or go missing during shipping.

3. Flat pack furniture usually cannot be customized. Can your materials be re-sized, just in case you made a mistake in measuring the space you intend to put it?

4. Is the material suited for hot and humid climates? They need to be resistant to termites and other wood damaging bugs. If not, you might have to get them treated.

5. You might get charged by customs, possibly even more than the price you paid for the materials.
