The following info I would like to share on my first 10 months in Burundi. They may not be 100℅ accurate depends many factors such as personal preference, choices, standard of living, etc., current as of 1st quarter 2017, bank rate forex 1670Fbu/1USD.

> How much does it cost to rent an apartment/house in Burundi?
$600 a month for a 4-bedroom decent house (Kinindo area)

> How much do you pay for your public transport tickets (bus, subway, train, tram)?
Contract taxi $2-$3, short distance city drive 2kms-6kms., $2-$3.
Airport taxi to city destination starting at $15.

> Staple food: what do people eat and how much do they pay for basic food like bread, rice or pasta?
Locals average $3 consisting of rice, potato and beans for main dish. Bread, plain and sliced, $1.50, available almost every corner shop.
Expat meal starting at $10/person minimum.

>What is your monthly grocery budget?
Average $250 per month.

> How much does it cost to see a physician/doctor/specialist in Burundi?
Normal medical consultation $40 plus $5 registration fee.

> What is your children's schooling monthly budget?
$540/child on a medium class international school, including tuition fee and child daily allowance, school bus/transport not included.

> How much does it cost to fill up your car's fuel tank?
$72 suv vehicle. $1.3/liter ordinary gasoline.

> How much do you pay for electricity/gas/water etc.?
$15 per month electricity bill
$38 refill gas cylinder tank 12.5kg
$6 quarterly water bill.

> How much do you pay for your Internet/phone subscription?
$50 monthly subscription, unlimited data, 512 kbps

> How much do you pay for your lunch pack on weekdays?
$8 per person ordinary meal.

> How much do you pay for an espresso coffee?
$3 per cup

> How much do you pay for a cinema ticket?

> How much does a gym membership cost in Burundi?
$40-$60 per month depend on available gym equipment.
