We are considering becoming resident in Panama under the Pensioner visa programme. One of the documents required is certificate from the UK police stating that we don't have a criminal record ( which we don't! ) but is such a thing available in the UK?
I think it's going to be a stumbling block, has anyone any experience of this?

Bien si no tienen antecedentes penales, pueden solicitar el antecedente penal que indique que no tienen antecedentes.
Si no se lo expiden soliciten una certificación en donde conste que no tienen antecedentes, si no les quieren expedir el record policivo, acudan al consulado panameño y expliquenles la situación para que el consulado certifique que no se expiden antecedentes penales,en su país de origen y esa certificación del consulado panameño la apostillan o la autentican.
Igualmente soliciten al consulado cualquier información que estimen conveniente

Welcome to expat-blog. Checks like these are most important even in the UK specially for jobs in nursing and teaching.
The checks are carried out by the Criminal Records Bureau. Try getting in touch with them and they should be able to help you with this
