Through ibay.com.mv you can only respond to housing offers if you have a Maldivian number, which I don't have yet as I am not there yet.

I'm looking to stay with a family / room mates / alternatively a guest house (but that may be over my budget). Any tips?

Hi All, I am Malaysian and recently my employer from Saudi Arabia offered me a post in Maldives. We are a main contractor for Nasir Ibrahim Airport expansion. I accepted the offer and I got the business visa already from Maldives Immigration Dept. The problem now is I didn't have an official aprroved offer letter from Maldives (SBG Maldives) and the contract. I also didn't know how my company got my business visa but I have fill up a visa form and return to my employer for submission. Please advise what shoud I expect for the documents before leaving my country to Maldives.

i think you have to come first maldives. normaly from ibay  u cant get it becouse owners offer who is coming with cash then there. they dont wait as you come maldives. first few days beter stay a hotel (25 USD to any). while you stay hotel within 3,4 day you can get it,.. if any help neede contact me. xxxx

Hello Everyone I just joined in this site yesterday. I just wanted to know more about Maldives since I have a job offer to work there as Marketing Executive (industry type: is HEALTHCARE PROVIDER/HOSPITAL) in Male. It would be my first time to work abroad.

And also meet new friends here.

I am an Experienced Marketing Officer here in the Philippines at the same time I teach computer subjects in secondary level and college  and business computing, also I do training's related in IT.

Firstly, I suggest that you read your contract thoroughly and understood before you finalize, you can make amendment that work both ways to you and your employer.

Second check the cost of living in the Maldives in the www.

Finally the accommodation and other things that your employer will provide, do not be afraid to ask is you are staying alone in a room or its sharing ? amenities T&B, laundry area, etc. do be afraid to ask.

Before you enter an agreement, remember you work for living.

ok i understand it wrong. there is similar named local cafe in the capital.

Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort, Gaafu Alifu Atoll, Maldives ... it must be good. resort life is good you can save and everything is good in resorts in the maldives. however it depends on your professional and skill level. there will be very skilled people and once must have the skill to be with them in team.  normally maldivians are good and kind to foreigners unless they show rudeness.
read your contract and basic salary etc.
