Dear Fellow readers
Could someone here tell me where is it safe to live in philippines, I have only been to Boracay island, Subic Bay, Angeles City and Manila. Would anyone here suggest another safe place to reside as I am an Australian who loves the philippines and would like to spend longer periods of times there.
Love your posts and information about this beautiful but complex country with all its colourful and vibrant society.

Hi Yuki,
It's safe to live in the cities generally. The locals in provinces (including the places you already visited) are friendly. I would personally recommend the following areas: Ayala Makati, Ortigas Pasig, Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. These are highly urbanized locations with relatively low crime rates.
Stay away from "old manila" (e.g. tondo, sta mesa, etc.) at all costs. These are large areas and it's hard to say that every location inside those areas are "safe". You can message me if you are looking for a more specific area that you can live though.
