The holiday season in Wales

Hello everyone,

Are you about to celebrate the holiday season in Wales? In many countries and cultures, the festive season is the time for happiness and reunions/gatherings. Is it so in Wales? How do Welsh celebrate this very special time of the year?

What about you? Will you spend the holiday season in your host country or in your home country? Will there be expat reunions/celebrations/parties in your region/town/area?

Thank you in advance for sharing!

Priscilla

Christmas in Wales is very similar to Christmas in other parts of the United Kingdom. We decorate our homes with lights on the outside and Christmas trees in the inside. Christmas shopping starts early in November and there a Christmas markets in the big cities such as Cardiff and Swansea.
Mulled wine is consumed everywhere and for Christmas lunch we eat turkey with brussle sprouts! The meal is finished with a traditional Christmas pudding and crackers!
The TV on Christmas day is great and some religious people go to church to celebrate on Christmas morning.
It is a great time to celebrate with friends and family in Wales!
