I want to travel to Germany for Christmas vacation to visit my sister, but I'm waiting for the renewal of my Permesso di Soggiorno to be complete

Hi! If you've already been through this process can you please help me? My permesso is in renewal and I'm going to my home country (non-EU) before it arrives. The problem is that my return flight is to Germany and I'll stay there for a week. My questura told me to apply for a temporary permit. But idk what kind of a documet/invitation I need. The reason I'm going is my boyfriend's graduation. We're planning to take a document from his university and a letter written by him. Do you think they'd be enough, or is there a template/format of an invitation? Thank you
