Property prices in the USA

Hello everyone,

Finding affordable housing in the USA is number one priority for newcomers. Tell us more about the estate market in your district/city/region.

What are the most desired places to live? What are the most affordable ones? What is the average cost of a rented flat? And what is the average sale price for an appartment or a house? Could you tell us more about local real estate policies/procedures? What about property tax or residency tax in the USA?

What about you? Where do you live now? Is it a place you would recommend?

Thank you in advance for your clarifications.

Priscilla

Hi,
I live in Houston because of work related reasons. Houston (and Texas in general) used to be one of the major cheapest cities to live in the US. With the increasing population Houston is not that cheap anymore but cheaper than New York, Boston, San Francisco, etc.
Mid-West states tends to be cheaper: Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, etc etc.

Regards,

Alexandra

I also live in Houston and in the process of looking to buy a house. My apartment is costing me 1,550 a month which is like paying a mortgage. So many to consider like real estate tax, HOA, good school district and accessibility to work. We really need to research well and get a good real estate agent to guide you with mortgage lender and what's in the market.

Hi,
There are several areas in the USA where you can get affordable and beautiful houses. I think New York Is the most desired place in USA. You can think about Lido beach NY, Long beach, oceanside, valley stream, woodmere etc. Well One of my favorite is New York long Beach area.I came to know about this area from one of my friends she lives Long Beach New York ocean view with terrace and she wants me to buy property in that particular area. I have been there many times and it's my personal experience and you will find it very interesting area once you will visit there. If you want you can get houses for rent as well.
