There are a lot of rentals in Budapest. There is a website called ingatlan.hu at this site proerties for rent and sale are listed. My family rented an appartment for me in Budapest 1147 which is an appartment are where families live with lots of pets. Its nice and safe. Lots of trees and parks. I have a 3 brm appt. for under 600 dollars.
