On what basis did you enter the country? Tourism, business?
Simply having entered Europe legally does not mean you can get residence.

Hallo
I hv entered on business visa in 2015 which is expired now but i heard that in Portugal if u pay one year taxes u are eligible go get papers on the basis of legal entry in any one of schenzgen zone .
