Norwegian Cruise Lines is offering dirt cheap cruises from Buenos Aires to Rio, 10 days, for $289 each double occupancy plus about $200 port taxes and fees. The cruise leaving BA on 12/3/16, making 2 stops in Uruguay and 3 stops in Brazil before pulling into Rio. The return trip 12/13 to 12/23/16 costs the same. Supposedly people without a visa for Brazil are having great problems obtaining one since the Olympics ended. The ship, the NCL Sun, is an older ship but was in great shape in 2015 when I sailed on her for 29 days. To get all the details, log into NCL.com and call their Miami office. Also one can log into cruisecritic.Com to read reviews about the Sun and other South American cruises. This offer may not be repeated, in 2017 the Sun does not return to South America until 12/23/17. There are some very good similar cruises available in April, 2017, starting at $449. Worth checking out.
I had not been online for some time, was sorry to read about the murder of James in April. He was always helpful and very upfront with his views and opinions. His murder in the afternoon for no apparent reason says a lot about expats and freedom of speech.
