Hi, currently living in Hua Hin and on my way to Chiang Mai next week can anyone recommend a hotel which is central to entertainment/markets and live music.
Spend a few days there prior to renting scooters to do the Mae Hong Som loop.

I know a hotel that is reasonable and a very short distance from the hot spots. It's the Royal Peninsula Hotel. In the immediate area the is a 7/11, if you need little things. Oh, their breakfast buffet is good (western and Thai) and reasonable. Oh, if you need a bike in the city I use Mango Bikes. I good shop with good prices and they will deliver to the hotel.
