Hello

Does anyone know if there is a limit to the amount one can send back to the UK in one sum? Will there be any tax liabilities on money sent back to the UK when we leave the UAE?

There is no maximum amount and no tax implications either - your only risk is the extortionate amount the banks will charge you so I would strongly advise looking at other ways of making the transfer.
I used to use transferwise.com when I lived in Australia, over here I use the deVere FX service as the rates are slightly lower. More than happy to pass you the details of the guy who does it for me.
