Hey Andy!
I am a fellow North American who knows what you are going through. I am 23 and moved to Den Haag about 4 weeks ago. I'm currently in the process of job searching (something to do between now and Sept when I hopefully start my masters) and am going through the typical "growing pains" of adjusting to dutch life...how are we supposed to know that eating sprinkles on bread for breakfast is normal? haha.
I'm living with my dutch boyfriend here but if you are just looking to get out of the house and meet other err (North) Americans, let me know!
