What to do in Chile during Christmas and NY

Hi all

My husband and I planning to visit Chile during the Christmas and New Year holidays but we don't know where to go or what to do during this period. Is there any particular festival or event that takes place during these holidays? We have Santiago and Concepcion in mind to visit what do you think?

Wow there is so much to do, think about heading out of Santiago, too Val paradiso or vina deal mar, they are around an hou and a half away from Santiago along the coast, there will be fire works party and stuff. I missed out because my wife was pregnant but go hard and let me know how it goes, I'm not sure what or how to go about it. Buses are cheap out of city though busy times mean you'll have to be quick and the traffic is crazy,!!!

Google the info center in val paradiso or vina del mar and hit them up for info or even the hotel you stay at. I'm not sure about what happens inside Santiago on Christmas and New Years,
