As a non-EU-citizen, you should first check whether you are eligible to work in Germany and can get a work permit. This requires niche skills that are in demand but rare in the EU, because all suitably skilled EU citizens must be preferentially hired (by law). There are many unemployed construction workers here, so house repairs and similar works will probably not give you this chance.
