Hi,

I arrived in Italy in November, 2015 and applied for my first permessu di soggiorno on July 2016 and the date they have given me for the finger printing is on November, 2016. My visa expires on October 2016. Please let me know can I travel to India with the expired visa, post office receipt and a valid passport

An Italian residence permit has no bearing on traveling to India.

Hi,
Yes you can go to India with the post office receipt. But you should come back to Italy with in a period of 6 months. The post office receipt has a vilidity of 6 months.
