Common misconceptions and clichés about life in Uganda

Hello everyone,

Old clichés die hard, as the saying goes... and living in Uganda can generate lots of misconceptions in the eyes of the people.

What are the most common misconceptions about the expat lifestyle in Uganda?

What are the most common clichés about life in Uganda in general?

Did you have a biased view of the country before moving there? What is you view now?

Thanks in advance,

Priscilla

Safety..
Everybody feels unsafe in Uganda..
it is most common misconception about African countries.

Some people think there's Ebola hidden all around, -its mosquito invested and or other diseases abound. Total rubbish. I've lived in Kampala for 4 years...I've probably not been sick ONCE !?

Your reply...everyday believes African countries are bound to have all sorts of diseases mention them but if one is health conscious the you can live without fear of any of those bound so-called diseases..

The happiness of solitude is found neither in the retreats nor in the busy streets..It is in the self.
