Customer care in Fiji

Hello everyone,

The way customer services are handled can greatly affect your views on certain brands, products, companies or stores. As a consumer, it is important to get familiar with local practices regarding client assistance in Fiji and try to understand how things work in the country.

How would you describe your customer service experiences in Fiji?

Do you feel welcome when you enter a store? Do you get useful tips and advice?

Are after-sales services available in Fiji?

Thanks for sharing your experience,

Customer service here is generally pretty great. We've never had a problem before.

There is one custom that we find a little off-putting, though. When you go into a retail shop (any shop other than the grocery store), a salesperson immediately begins to quietly follow you for the duration of your browsing. I'm pretty sure they want to assist you if you have any questions, but it feels awkward every single time. I've also gotten unsolicited advice about items, which made me feel pressured to buy stuff. So now I only go shopping when absolutely necessary.

If by after sales services, you are referring to product guarantees or returns, then yes that is sometimes available. I recommend making sure guarantees or returns apply to purchases of electronics, specifically. We've had issues with shoddy toasters, toaster ovens, and juicers. But customer service has always been very accommodating for these issues.
