My husband and I (currently living between London and Northern France) want to move to Bordeaux in the next year, but would like to spend a few weeks there in October, getting to know the city and the areas we like and making some contacts with realtors, etc. We are a professional couple (design/media) in our early 50's, responsible and considerate and just about grown up. Can send any further information if necessary. There are a number of places that we are looking at on Airbnb but thought I would give the forum a go too. Thanks in advance.

You could be fortunate and find something very affordable to cover October.

I'm wondering if you found somewhere for your October visit?
I've only just seen your post, but we have an apartment in central Bordeaux that is available for November/December if that's any use to you?
It's booked for Christmas but also available in January/February
