Emergency Message for U.S. Citizens: Tropical Storm Mirinae

This emergency message is being issued to alert U.S. Citizens residing in or traveling to Northern Vietnam of the approaching Tropical Storm Minirae and its potential impact in Northern Vietnam.
As of 8:00 AM on July 27, Tropical Storm Minirae was estimated to be 230 KM southeast of the Thai Binh – Ninh Binh coastal area and forecast to move west-northwest at about 20 KM/hour towards Northern Vietnam. The Vietnamese National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts that Minirae will make landfall in the Northern region of Vietnam near Quang Ninh and Hai Phong in the evening of Wednesday, July 27 with estimated maximum sustained winds of 60-90km/hour. Heavy rainfall with localized flooding is expected for the Northeastern region provinces of Vietnam.
