Hello everyone,

Moving abroad requires adequate insurance coverage.

What type of insurance expatriates need the most in Qatar: health, house or liability insurance? All of them? Do they come as a package?

Are there other insurance options to consider like critical illness, damage or property insurance?

Is it better to purchase insurance from an expat insurance specialist or from a local insurance provider?

And what about insurance costs?

Hi Kenjee,

It's always recommended to buy your insurance locally since it's easier and more convenient to make your claim whenever needed.

In Qatar, similar to other Middle East countries, people would mainly purchase motor insurance since it's mandatory. Medical insurance in some cases is provided by the employer but that's not mandatory in Qataryet.
