Job Offer Advice

Hi,

I am living in India and offered a job in a bank in Bahrain. I am an IT professional with 8 years of experience in banking domain. Below are the perks bank is providing.
1. 1200 BHD per month salary
2. 1 extra salary as bonus in month of June
3. Free independent accommodation for family
4. Health Insurance for self and wife
5. Medical expenses for self
6. Club membership
7. Dependent visa expenses for wife
8. Performance bonus at the end of every year (mostly 2 or 3 months of basic salary)

I am already earning a good salary in India which is supposed to be at upper end in IT industry according to my experience.

I am looking for decent salary in Bahrain according to my experience ( not considering marital status / family size / Indian purchasing power mentality)

Is 1200 BHD with the above benefits a good offer to live in Bahrain (comparing the luxury and standard of life I am living with my current salary in India) ?

If there is any scope of negotiate than how much should I negotiate with HR ?

Thanks in Advance.
Regards,

Thanks for the reply. All these threads are old and I am looking to judge my current job offer (according to my exp., current market conditions, future growth, etc. etc.), Kindly advice me on that.

Hi LogicalIndian_IT

Welcome to the Forum.

A respected member like logicalindian (the older  :P ) will not recommend that you take a look at older links if he thinks the information is not relevant. Though the threads are old, the information they contain is still relevant. You will be surprised at how things "don't change" in Bahrain :D

Any way - the short answer to your question - your package is good, and in line with market practice for someone with your level of experience. It even appears a little "above average", so you have done well with your negotiations so far. Your main expense will be your accommodation. The other important item is health care. Since these are covered, I believe you have landed a good deal. By the way - no harm in negotiating for a little more. You will never know unless you try.

Feel free to shoot us your queries as they arise and we will do our best to respond.

Good luck and look forward to welcoming you to Bahrain.   :top:
