Tram Chaos Predicted Through September in Cuenca’s Centro

Expect “chaos” to persist on Cuenca’s Centro Histórico streets through about September 25th, the city’s new director of the tram project told business owners last week (mid-May 2016).

Cuenca’s transit director is recommending that motorists park outside the Centro area and walk in during this period of tranvía construction.

A clothing store owner quoted at the Cuenca Highlife website says he’s been living through a traffic mess caused by the construction for two years, during which time he says other businesses have failed due to the problems.

Many bus routes have been re-routed to accommodate the delayed tram construction.
