I just got the permanent resident sticker in my passport ( lost my SA citizenship due to acquiring second nationality without prior permission) and have also applied for my ID booklet.
My question is,can I get a job in SA with just the permanent sticker or do I have to wait for the ID booklet

You do not need the ID book as the sticker proves that you have Permanent Resicency. However, the ID book will make it easier for the employer to register you for UIF. But to get started, the ID book is not required.
