Generally speaking, the further away from downtown the cheaper the rents, but it does depend on whether the apartment is old badly maintained or new with good amenities.
If you are looking for a relatively cheap place but well situated downtown then you could look at Mutiara Villa, Angkasa Impian I and Angkasa Impian II. Mutiara Villa has all different sizes of apartment, from below 500 ft2 onwards. Angkasa Impian is much newer and has better amenities.
What would really help us to give proper advice is to know which is your preferred area to live, and what is your budget.
