Presidential elections will be held in Equatorial Guinea on 24 April. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has thus issued a set or regulations intended for citizens and residents of the country.
Vehicles and other motorized means of locomotion, except those of international observers, diplomatic missions leaders, representatives of international organizations, provided they are on board, are prohibited from circulating across the country. These guidelines will take effect as from Saturday 23 at midnight until Monday 25 noon. These also apply to taxis.
Moreover, the country's airspace will also be closed all day on Sunday 24. Foreign nationals who are planning to travel to Equatorial Guinea are therefore advised to check with their air carrier beforehand.
On the other hand, foreign nationals who are on the spot are advised to avoid Bioko Island and the mainland a few days before and after the poll.
