Please could somebody tell me who pays for an estate agents commission in Italy? Is it the buyer or seller and how much is the norm?

Buyer and seller pay the estate agent's fee, 50/50% split.

Hi,
Usually both vendor and buyer pay commission to the real estate agent. Fees might go from a minimum of 2% to a maximum of 4%. Usually they ask 3%.
Some agents ask to get paid at the signature of the preliminary contract, some others directly at the completion.
