Tips and advice to thrive in Serbia

Hi,

When living in a foreign country, you have to adapt to a new environment, various cultures and different social codes.

How did you manage to adjust to Serbia?

How long does it take to feel at home? Would you say it is an easy process?

According to you, what is key for a successful integration process in Serbia?

Thank you in advance for sharing your experience!

Take each day as it comes, and try and learn a little of the language, albeit if we are not able to communicate out comes paper and pen and sign language.

We are so glad that we semi made the move and try and spend as much time in our village cottage in the Vojvodina area-North Serbia.

The wine is excellent both rose, red and white and our area is known for their excellent production.
The beers are cheap and a delight to drink, especially one called Jelina- perhaps its the water or the hops, its very welcome after a long bike ride or a few hours working in the garden.

Horse and cart goes clip clop past our cottage one way that the locals still rely on for transporting various goods and furniture. the local bread and in the next street bakes and open from 530am-930am- the bread is so delicious as is the cheese Pie.

so much more to add- so if your thinking of moving- go for it.
