Salary range; evaluation of offer; points to negotiate

Greetings! I will be evaluating an offer of director of nursing education at a large hospital in Riyadh. I have nearly 25 years (total) progressive nursing experience. I have worked as a masters prepared clinical nurse specialist, and most recently as an assistant or associate professor (8 years; received PhD in 2007).
In the new position, I will have at least 30 direct reports and will be responsible for nursing education throughout the facility (>4000 nurses).
What would be a reasonable salary range? I understand the basic/standard housing, transportation, travel package will be included. Are there other specific things I should consider and include in final negotiations?

Kindly,
Bree

range? thats like asking for outliers graph. there are several things to be considered... nationality, where you received your education, how long your experience is in your most current position (not over all).

I am American. I was educated at a top 100 US health sciences campus. I actually spent last year teaching nursing at a Saudi University. Prior to that, I served as Chair (6 months) of the nursing program where I worked as an Associate Prof for 4 years. I returned to the States last summer and have worked/practiced as a nurse specialist for the past 6 months while researching opportunities to return to KSA.

If you have already worked in KSA before then you must be aware of everything already. Do you have kids? If you do, then you can try to get cover for education. Other usual things are family status, medical coverage, car or transport allowance, Annual paid vacations with a return air ticket to your home city.

Thanks! I generally am aware of what it takes to work there, but hoped that I could get more insight from someone who is currently working in the setting (hospital). There seems to have been lots of changes (at least) talked about since I departed.

Bree

I am not aware of any drastic changes generally; but if they have happened to a particular industry then I am not aware. If you can mention which changes you are talking about then you might get better help.

One major thing that I forgot to mention is Housing allowance. Although generally hospitals tend to provide residence, you should insist on compound residence or equivalent allowance.

Hope it helps
