Apartment rental needed for Quito

I'm moving to Quito at the end of January 2011 (in about 8 weeks time!!) and I urgently need to rent an apartment for several months.  I've tried to find letting agents for Quito on Internet, but they don't seem to be available.  Can anybody help?
Thanks,

I could help you, but... what is your budget? how many people? what do you rather be close to?

Good questions.  My budget is $200-$500 per month.  Just me, but must have double bed.  Ideally, not too far from the Parque Metropolitano (as I like to go for an early morning run every day).
Thanks
Russell

I'll see what I can find ... furnished? that might complicate the matter...

I just did a quick search and noticed that the Canadian government advises against Quito?!!

Is this just being over protective... or is this a good caution against moving to quito?

Complete BS... following this, you can advise against traveling to US...

I recently recieved this info about a house rental in Quito. I hope it helps. please tell Judy that Airbrusher gave this to you.

I live in Ponciano Alto (north Quito in Carcelen) and there's apartment available in January in my building (one bedroom for $250)

Hey, yeah I know this place. Talked with Judy as well.  But it is located at the edge of Centro Historico on Rocafuerte.  Beautiful big house.  This poster is looking up north so I'm not sure if this is a fit.  Personally, I love the centro.  I've lived in San Blas for 1 year and have had no problems.  The rent (which is considered expensive) is $150/mo. for a two bedroom.  Water and electric costs me $5.00/mo.  much better prices in the centro than up north or in la mariscal.  Would recommend the centro if you want to save some bucks.  I've had no security problems here either and it is very convenient to pub. transpotation (25 cents) and the cheap mercados.  Really can't beat it.
