The last few times we have always hired a car. However reading the horror stories about accidents and scooter set ups I am inclined to consider a taxi. I would be looking for 3-4 times a week for 3-4 months from Sosua to Perla Marina-one way. Can anyone suggest a good reliable company/individual? I tried last year but the fares varied from 300 pesos to 600 pesos. Thanks

Why not hoof it out to the main road and catch a Gua-gua for 40 pesos.

The reason is for one way is just that. To take "publico" up to Sosua. Having done the my shopping, from experience, rather difficult coming back with bags all over the place, hence the taxi idea.

The rate will be pretty standard of around $400-$500 RD per trip. You might want to make a deal with a cab that takes you the first time to do it on a more regular basis for a reduced fare.
