I am interested in working on offshore rig in Africa and would greatly appreciate any advice. Currently work at oil refinery as instrument tech in U.S.

I would suggest a Google search for companies working in the region and approach them directly.
Alternately search for jobs online as there are recruitment companies who specialize in supplying workers for oil and gas rigs.
