I need travel/medical insurance for America, but the policies I've found so far seem to have really poor cover. Can anybody suggest a place to look?
It's the medical cover that seems quite low. I know in the UK they suggest not going to America with less than £1,000,000 medical cover, but the highest I can see here is €600,000. In France you couldn't get cover that high but your social security would partially cover medical expenses anyway, so the high cover wasn't as essential. I'm assuming Malta doesn't do the same, so we'll need a higher cover? Is €600,000 the highest I'm likely to get?

We looked at Staysure a couple of years ago and they didn't get good reviews back then, but I'll check the other two. We've only checked the Insurance companies based in Malta so far.

Bad reviews for insurance companies are usually left by customers that either did not read the policy correctly or omitted / lied about something when applying for the insurance or the claim.
You get what you pay for!
