Dependant expats - has anybody found a job at all?

Hello everyone,

Just like a lot other people here, I moved to KL recently on Dependent Visa and looking for a suitable job opportunity. I understand it is not a joke to find a job here but I still haven't reached the 'I give up' stage. I am curious to know if anybody on this forum has tried and been successful in finding a job of their choice? (Looking for some motivation)
I am a Chartered accountant from India and pursuing CIMA from the UK. I have close to 4 years of experience in audit. But I am still struggling to find a job on Jobstreet. Only 1 call for 50 applications sent.

Jobstreet is for low paid local jobs. Avoid.

A colleaugue's wife got a job as an accountant but 5k job and she got her own employment pass. Was easier. She was a british ACA and this was with a MNC.

If i throw a pen out of my window i will hit a local qualified accountant willing to work for peanuts as way too many of them.

You do the math!

Thought as much! Thanks Nemodot.

You need to network at a well known place i cant mention or be moderated....

Leverage the indian specialism. Eg language and accounting standards. Maybe an indian company needs someone. But online apps a complete waste of time. You need to get out and meet people!
