Hello Everyone,
I have been looking online but I can't seem to find a straight answer. We are moving to Malta at the end of December and we have savings to last without jobs for 6-8 months. If for some reason worst come to worst and we don't find jobs in the 6 months, our savings would start to look very scarce.
So if this situation did come up (personally I don't think it will) would we get any help financially or would we just have to return to the UK?

If you are currently unemployed in the UK you can transfer some benefits to Malta as long as you register with ETC in Malta

The jobs are there if you want them, just don't expect the same remuneration as in the UK.

Yeah we are aware of the rates of pay over there and we would do any sort of work when we arrive, so hopefully it all goes smooth.

benefits are only applicable to unemployed after 50 weeks of employment..... bear that in mind too.
