Will 7500 RM is sufficient to live with family and 1 kid in KL. Please give some suggestions??

My rule of thumb 10k single (allows for some entertainment / saving) +2k wife + 1k per kid pre-school + 5k per month at school. That isn't luxury but eating home cooked food, only one cheap hol a year and a local car and or live near work can live/save for retirement.
so 7.5k is no savings, tight with money and risk blowing any savings as soon as one bad illness. So why?
