Guides and General Info on Buenos Aires

First of all I would like to welcome you all to Buenos Aires.  I hope your stay will be as exciting and fulfilling as mine has proven to be.  So far, I have been here since late 2006 and love every minute of my life here.

I have a website with good information regarding Buenos Aires that is in English and has some great resources, guides, etc. and events listed.

http://goodmorningba.com

I also host monthly events as the Buenos Aires Ambassador for InterNations.org, an international website for expatriates and others with "Global Minds".  If anyone needs an invitation there just drop me an email. Also, any events I host with them will be on the Good Morning BA site.  (And there is never a cover charge or entry fee for these events and I actually manage to negotiate good specials on food and drinks.)

Also, I would recommend the following guides during your stay.  I have found them all to be very helpful.

Restaurant Guides:

http://www.guiaoleo.com.ar/  Unquestionably the best online restaurant guide in Buenos Aires.  It has an extensive advanced search allowing a variety of parameterts to include location, type of cuisine, price, etc.  (English, Portuguese, Spanish)

http://www.saltshaker.net/  A great website/blog that has useful guides and awesome restaurant reviews.  The owner, a friend, is a chef and operates a Closed Door Restaurant in his home, and really know his stuff regarding the culinary scene here in Buenos Aires. (English)

http://www.guiaepicureo.com/ A newer guide with bars & restaurants broken down into 2 different categories. (Spanish)

http://www.restonauta.com/navigation.php?reset An even newer guide with what appears to be a user interphase allowing searches by map/location or type of cuisine (Spanish)

http://www.happycow.net/south_america/a … nos_aires/ great international health food store & vegetarian restaurant guide (English)

Hi,

Thanks a million for this wonderful information.  I can't believe it's only 5 weeks since we get to BA.

Cheers

Give me a shout when you get here and we can try to find the bottom of some wine bottles together!
