I would like some estimates about the cost of living in Santa Cruz. The area is sold to Italian senior citizens as very affordable. Some articles even say that 1000 US $ are enough to live well, but I do not think so. Could you help me? How much for food, two people, middle class style, nothing fancy, not much eating out? Thank you

It is very affordable. $1000/month (plus rent) is definitely doable including eating out.
