Sean from/living in Dublin

Hello EVERYONE!!

How's it going, Im Sean from/living in Dublin. Im 26 unemployed with a Degree in Business and years of working experience after college.

I joined this site as I hope to meet and get advice from people who can help me find a job and live in Pattaya.
I'm hoping to move over in May for as long as my savings last. I've been to Thailand and Pattaya twice already and love the life.

Am I crazy to do this ? Has anyone ever went over and found a job a few days/weeks after they land? or should I try get a job before booking flights? any suggestions?

Are there agencies or websites that help?

I would be up for working just about anywhere from a bar to an office.

Cheers Guys hope to hear back from you....Sean

Have a job before you arrive because its not that easy to find work that will provide a work permit which is required.

Thanks..
Any suggestions of type of work or websites for foreigners to find work?

Besides teaching what options are there?

Thanks man

There are many forums talking about work and formalities, have a look under : https://www.expat.com/forum/211-5-work-in-thailand.html

There is also a list of jobs prohibited to foreigners in Thailand

Great stuff

Job section is here : https://www.expat.com/en/jobs/asia/thailand/

Company Directory is here : https://www.expat.com/en/business/asia/thailand/

Many foreigners here are teachers but you need right qualifications, there is no small job or manual job for foreigners.

A Thai company who want to recruit 1 foreigner need to do a lot of administrative papers like B visa and work permit support documents, plus the company need to have 2 million baht capital for each work permit, plus they need to recruit 4 local Thai people for each work permit, plus they need to pay a minimum wage 50,000 THB per month,...

That mean they will look for qualified foreigners in specific field where they can not find Thai.

It is better to get job where you are in a multinational group which have offices or plants, or resorts, etc... in Thailand, they you can try a move later on inside the group by applying for internal vacant position...

Ok thank you so much, this site is such a great tool to understanding. Thanks for the help guys
